Soldiers' Tales Untold

Thursday, May 7 at 7:30 PM

Soldiers' Tales Untold will be performed at St. John's on Thursday evening, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. Soldiers' Tales Untold is a unique mix of narration, interactive theatre, improvised music, and classical music that seeks to engage diverse audiences in both contemplation and critical thinking. It is a musical examination of the impact of war on soldiers' lives and is a de-construction of the Igor Stravinsky 1918 classic, L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale). Selected scenes from L'Histoire are juxtaposed with, and interrupted by, actual commentary and reflections of 20th-century soldiers, set to improvised music. The piece is 45 minutes long with a 30-minute discussion period afterward. Please plan to attend, and tell your family and friends. We hope to have a good crowd and a thoughtful discussion afterwards. For more information, please contact us at info@jpconcerts.org, or view the video trailer on YouTube.
