Russian violinist Rybakov started to play violin at age six. He is a versatile violinist who enjoys playing Irish fiddle. He studied at the special music school in his hometown, Ekaterinburg, and afterwards he enrolled at the Ural State Conservatory “M.P. Mussorgsky” where he graduated “with honors” in June 2009. While studying there he performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante and Bach’s Double Concerto, and the Mendelssohn violin concerto with the Ural Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. In 2007 Rybakov won first prize in the Juvaskyla Violin Competition in Finland. He also received special mention from the Elsky Violin Competition in 2008. In recent summers Rybakov performed solo and chamber music in festivals in Italy and Russia. Since September 2009 he is pursuing a Performance Diploma at Boston University under the supervision of Professor Yuri Mazurkevich.
A native of Madrid, Spain, pianist Raquel Gorgojo studied at the “Conservatorio Padre Antonio Soler”, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in piano with the highest qualifications. Between 2002 and 2005 she pursued a Master of Music degree and a Performance Diploma at “The Jacobs School of Music” at Indiana University under the tutelage of two distinguished professors, Menahem Pressler and Emile Naoumoff. In subsequent years she studied in Berlin with Fabio Bidini and in Amsterdam with Mila Baslawskaja. During the year 2007-08 Gorgojo was an artist in residence at “The Banff Centre for the Arts” in Canada, where she performed regularly with many fine artists, including Barry Shiffman, Todd Palmer, Lambert Orkis, and Steve Schick. A dedicated chamber musician, she has collaborated with both instrumentalists and singers, working closely with L.Hokanson, M. Fuks and M. Fried among others. Since the summer of 2007 she has been invited as a coach by Middlebury College in Vermont for the German for Singers and Vocal Coaches program. With her brother Jaime (violin) and sister Blanca (cello) she forms a trio, which recently performed a recital in the “Festival Internacional de Música de Ribadeo 2009” (FIMR), and whose upcoming performances include two recitals at the “Fundación Juan March” (Madrid). Gorgojo is the recipient of Fulbright, Ministerio de Cultura de España and Fundación Caja Madrid scholarships.
