First Thursdays December Recital

JP Concerts presents the promising concert pianist Calin Clark, who will perform a recital including compositions by J.S. Bach, F. J. Haydn, A.N. Scriabin and G. Enesco. Clark began playing the piano by ear at the age of 3 and started lessons at 6. He has also studied with many masters of piano pedagogy including Dr. Michael Coonrod, Natalie Phillips, Leontina Margulis, Vitaly Margulis, Jura Margulis, Paul Badura-Skoda, and most recently, Gabriel Chodos. Clark graduated from the University of Arkansas in piano performance, obtaining his B.M. in December 2007. He is currently a graduate student at New England Conservatory pursuing his M.M. in piano performance and slated to graduate in December 2008. He will then go for his doctorate. Clark has performed in Portugal, Germany, Chile, Romania, as well as in the United States. He has won first prizes and received awards in various competitions, some of international stature including the Pittsburg Concert Society and Crescendo International. Clark has also been invited to perform in Steinway houses, and by the Pittsburg Concert Society. Entry is free, but donations are always gratefully welcomed.
