JP Concerts presents COMPROVISED -- an experimental and collaborative music series aiming to avoid or shatter genre barriers, and to explore the boundaries between composition and improvisation. It also seeks to forge connections between like-minded artists from the NY and Boston scenes. JP Concerts Tickets are $10 at the door.

COMPROVISED is organized and operated by Travis Alford, Tanya Kalmanovitch, and Dan VanHassel. The music presented by COMPROVISED is sometimes composed, sometimes improvised, or more often a combination of the two. The musicians involved in this project believe that the mind of the creator as well as the musical experiences and abilities of the performers are all vital and rewarding parts of the total creative process, which can and should be utilized, as deemed necessary, for the creation of a work of art.
