The Boston New Music Initiative has programmed the work of 15 composers in its first year of operation, including four world premieres. The June concert will feature the work of an additional seven composers, including another two world premieres. Appearing on the concert will be the works of Mr. Elliot Cless (Isolated T-Storms, for string octet), Dr. Timothy A. Davis (Hommage for brass quintet), Ms. Anne Goldberg (Visiones Claroscuras for piano quintet), Dr. Chiayu Hsu (12 Signs for solo viola), Mr. Massimo Lauricella (Imis for clarinet, flute, and piano quintet), Dr. Bruce Reiprich (Chozubachi for piano trio), and Ms. Mari Takano (Two Chansons for soprano and piano).
The Boston New Music Initiative is an organization dedicated to maintaining an international network of composers, performers, conductors, directors, and champions of music in order to generate new music concerts, compositions, collaborations, and commissions. Founded in 2009, the organization aims to advance the careers of its members in the field of new music by serving as a resource for networking, commissioning, collaboration, and programming. The Boston New Music Initiative’s second concert season will feature at least six concerts consisting entirely of works from the 20th and 21st centuries, beginning in September 2010.
